"THE LOVE MECHANIC
AND HER TOOLS!"

Most of us spend a great deal of our lives in search of love and relationships and trying to figure out the whole concept. In fact, a whole lot of us don't have it nailed yet! But not so for a lady by the name of RENEE PIANE who is also known as the "Love Mechanic".

This bubbly, energetic thirty-something love guru possesses no medical or counseling degrees, yet has been helping people in their search for love for years. So how did it come about and why are so many people seeking out her help? She acquired the name "Love Mechanic" years ago during her career as a hairdresser. We all know how men and women alike tell their hairdressers a great deal about their lives, particularly their romantic lives.

But as Renee's clients told her of their troubles in the dating and romance department, she found her self giving them suggestions and they found implementing her suggestions was bringing about positive changes in their lives. It wasn't long before they dubbed her the "Love Mechanic".

But, it was a personal crisis in Renee Piane's life that seems to have given her the compassion she exhibits for those who are broken-hearted, or simply having a difficult time meting the love of their life.

About eight years ago, Renee developed a severe reaction to the chemicals she had been using in her many years as a hairdresser. The bottom line was that the cumulative effect of years of chemical exposure had left her at a point where the internal organs of her body were malfunctioning. Her body became swollen and lethargic, she had to give up a career she loved.

Losing that career, losing her daily interaction with people, which she loved, loosing her lovely figure all helped plunge her into a deep depression and shattered her self-esteem. But in the process of healing her body, mind and spirit, she also gained understanding as to what it was like to feel unattractive and unloved and how that feeling only repels people.

A new age devotee, she used all sorts of modalities to getherself back in shape and is now using what she learned to help others heal their body, minds and hearts. She does so by giving classes at the Learning Annex and by doing one-on-one coaching. Both her classes and coaching clients are predominantly male. I suspect some of that is due to the fact that she is very attractive. But she also exhibits an incredible compassion for men and their problems as singles. She truly seemed troubled by the situation as she told me that I would be amazed at how vulnerable, disheartened, frightened and closed down some of these "wonderful men" are and how badly some of them had been treated by women. But she admits, her female clients are also sometimes in the same condition. When she is working one-on-one with a client, she will also deal with the image they are projecting by the way they dress and carry themselves.

When I asked her to share some of her love tips with us, she said that most singles need to open themselves up to more people and just in general be kinder. She promotes living your life with high, positive energy, stating that what you put out will either attract or put off people. She adds that singles need to do things; "if you're bored, you're boring!" She advises her male clients to volunteer their time with charitable groups. She says there are plenty of women doing that now and men can increase their chances of meeting a terrific woman and do something to help people at the same time. She says that massage, cooking, ceramic and art classes are also places where men can meet a lot of women. Her suggestions for women are to get yourself in to trade shows, political functions and chamber of commerce mixers. These events are usually full of men, and many are single.

Of course, I couldn't help wondering why this attractive single lady with all the right answers wasn't married herself. She admits that there was a time in her life when se was not following the kind of advice she gives her clients and she too was attracting the wrong people.

However, she says that since she has gotten her life back on track and following her own advice, she finds she is enjoying her relationships, even if they haven't led to anything permanent yet. And when she isn't dating, coaching or lecturing, she is putting the finishing touches on LOVE MECHANICS, a book of strategies for living an extraordinary and fulfilling single life.
