"I
KNOW WHAT WOMEN REALLY WANT!"

Even
though I am married and truly feel that I have found my
soul mate, I must admit, sometimes I am utterly confused
that my husband cannot understand what I am thinking or
what I need. Granted, it is a certain relief that I am not
looking for "the one", but, in certain situations,
we still have such different ways of communicating. Trust
me, I have put a great amount of energy into why this is
so. He should basically be able to "read my mind",
and know what I want at all times, "right?" I
have come to the conclusion that maybe it is not his personality
in particular, but sometimes, it is just the difference
between a man and a woman, without sounding too sexist or
simple. Just maybe I am putting a little too much pressure
on him.
Therefore,
when I was assigned to attend the Book Release Party for
Renée Piane, a relationship expert, I felt inspired
to go. The book is titled Love Mechanics: Power Tools to
Build Successful Relationships with Women. Although the
book is mainly for men, women, (single or attached) will
read it and hopefully have some empathy for how arduous
the process can be for man when trying to meet the "right"
woman. It is everyone's dream to find true love, but, in
many instances, guys are just not "in tune" with
authentically understanding women and their needs. Frankly,
men are criticized too easily, when, in many instances,
men and women are just not communicating on the same level.
So,
on Tuesday, October 9, I joined more than 300 Westsiders
to attend the "Celebrating Life" Event at El Dorado
Cantina in Brentwood. The event brought community members
together to celebrate the release of singles expert Renée
Piane's new book, Love Mechanics: Power Tools to Build Successful
Relationships With Women as well as raise money for the
New York City Fallen Firefighters Fund. A silent auction
presented by Kim Rahilly of KRPR Inc., a public relations
firm in Beverly Hills and volunteer auction specialist Nora
Della Madallena raised nearly $3000, which included auctions
items by many local businesses including Spectrum Club,
Quest, Cosmetic Laserworks, Single Solutions, Elite Connections,
Pompadour Fragrances, Hollywood Makeup Artist Angela Moos,
and famed artists Mike McNeilly and Elise Vazelakis. The
proceeds from the auction went to benefit the New York City
Fallen Firefighters Fund. Kim Rahilly of KRPR did an amazing
job with the silent auction as well as promoting the event
in an elegant manner, especially at such a sensitive time
when people might be feeling a little guilty about celebrating
anything at all.
The
event brought people together for such a positive cause
after everything that has happened in our world since Sept.
11, Yet it is not a surprise that Renée Piane, the
Santa Monica-based philanthropic author, would combine her
Book Release Cocktail Party with an opportunity to help
others. That is just the type of person she is and helping
men, in particular, is her specialty. I think many people
desire to feel connected with others more so now than ever
and take in the "spirit of life." A portion of
each book sold will also be donated to the New York Firefighters
9-11 Disaster Relief Fund. The gathering was not a "singles
scene" at all nor a lecture series, but rather, a genuine
opportunity to be with people, meet new friends and take
part in Renee's success.
When
you meet Renée Piane, an extremely attractive brunette,
you truly see what a positive spirit she is. She has an
incredible amount of energy, and you are instantly drawn
to her charm and optimism. She radiates warmth, and you
honestly want to listen to what she has to say.
Kim
Rahilly of KRPR made sure the event was festive, and everyone
appeared to be having a great time. There was good food,
Tarot readings, handwriting analysis sessions and henna
body art available. I even ventured out so far to come home
with some body art. Everyone seemed genuinely happy for
Renée.
This
is Piane's first book in a series on relationships. She
is a popular Learning Annex seminar leader, personal empowerment
coach and weekly "SingleZone" columnist for Entertainment
Today; She has also been featured in Cosmopolitan magazine,
and on more than 30 different TV and radio shows.
A graduate of the American Seminars Leaders Association,
Renée is also certified in Neuro-Linguistic Programming,
Time Line Therapy and Hypnotherapy. The factor to Renée's
popularity and success may be her focus on changing old-belief
systems about being single. Through her work, she provides
progressive strategies and practical tools for both men
and women to live exciting and fulfilling lives by preparing
them for love from the inside out. She teaches that by 'Flirting
with Life' and giving back to their communities, people
can attain more success in life and love than they ever
imagined.
In Love
Mechanics: Power Tools to Build Successful Relationships
with Women, Renée spells out what, until now, only
men enrolled in her Learning Annex seminars could learn:
how to deal with dating while remaining sane and happily
single in the process. Basically, as Renée began
to fill the gap by taking men through this awkward social
ritual - both in her seminars and in on-on-one coaching
- she realized that much of the available information on
dating is geared toward women, and saw a clear need for
wider dissemination of her teachings.
Renée
feels that women naturally tend to be more socially adept,
whereas men are more inclined toward competition and achieving
success. This difference only adds to the pressure on men
associated with dating. Renée had originally noticed
the obstacles men face when she was a correspondent for
the national show "Men Across America," for which
she interviewed hundreds of single men. Her extremely popular
seminars also became a catalyst for the book. Therefore,
she took note of the most common problems men had, their
language and viewpoint, and began gathering information
tailored to help them. Finally, it became too voluminous
for a seminar and eventually grew into a book.
Renée
Piane challenges erroneous belief systems men may have about
love, women, and being single. She also offers easy steps
for how to change their energy to make being single and
the process of dating into an enjoyable, non-pressurized
phase of life.
A screening
process outlined in the book provides questions men can
ask to discover whether they have a "green light"
signaling a woman's interest. Piane draws from materials
she uses regularly in her teaching on overcoming shyness,
getting inside a woman's head and tackling any confidence
issues. In conclusion, the book offers straight talk, checklists,
secrets and specific strategies to cultivate exciting relationships.
Cleverly,
Love Mechanics is written in terms that men can relate to,
using the extended metaphor of a car. For example, headings
include: "Internal Tune-up" (transforming inner
thoughts); "Passengers Still Remaining in Your Vehicle"
(past loves still looming large); "Washing and Waxing"
(grooming); and "Exhaust Fumes" (belching and
breaking wind).
Actually
finding Renée Piane and getting a chance to speak
with her was not an easy task, but luckily I got a few moments.
I asked her what inspired her to write the book, and Renée
said, "It is basically the smart man's guide to dating,
attracting and understanding women." She was teaching
relationship classes for men at the Leaning Annex, and eventually,
some of the men told her that she should write down the
words that she was speaking. Renée feels that men
have not been trained properly. She also considers the book
to be mainly for men but "supported by women."
It is the first of a series of books she plans to write.
I also
got a quick moment to speak with Drew Clausen, who is a
consultant to the book as well as having helped publish
it. He stated an incredible amount of time and work was
put into the process of writing this book, and it was basically
a three-year process. He said that the book emphasizes men
having the "right energy" in order for them to
meet a woman. Clausen said Renée felt an inner calling
and saw a need. So many men are looking for answers. It
is basically a "how to" book with steps outlined
about dating and how men think about love.
Renée
stressed that the book emphasizes being kind to everyone
and to love what you do because that ultimately leads to
finding love. She also feels that you must be aware of yourself
and be willing to constantly update yourself. The image
you project to others is crucial when trying to meet someone.
Of course
she cannot guarantee a client finding the love of their
life, but Renée does offer particular love tips.
She feels that most singles need to just be kinder to each
other in general and also be more willing to open themselves
up. Finally, she emphasizes living your life with a positive
energy, believing that what one puts out will either attract
or put off people. This is such good advice that everyone
should apply to their life, single or not. If you want additional
information on the book, please visit: www.LoveMechanics.com
